Alice Barbe

“I define myself as an activist, even if in France ‘activist’ is a bad word, but I do define myself like this because I do believe that there is a fight to be fought for legitimacy.”

Alice Barbe is an activist and the Co-Founder of SINGA, France.

In response to the increasing tensions around migration, in France and elsewhere in Europe, in 2012 Alice Barbe founded SINGA to promote civic engagement on migration-led innovation. Barbe and the organization foster collaboration between refugees and their host cities by focusing on refugee’s personal, professional, cultural, and entrepreneurial plans and goals. SINGA is now active in 22 European cities and has worked with over 5,000 refugees and 20,000 locals. Barbe is also known for her social and feminist commitments, in favor of refugees and against cyber-harassment.
