Congratulations to Andrew Bastawrous, a 2023 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize winner.

Andrew Bastawrous, United Kingdom, is an ophthalmologist and Professor whose work in public health and as co-founder of Peek Vision means that over 5 million people in African and Asian countries have had their eye health screened.

Andrew has conducted research in over 20 countries, and lived in Kenya for two years where he led a major eye disease study.

Andrew’s work as Peek Vision’s co-founder has resulted in smartphone technology and public health tools to help eye health organizations increase their impact.

He is also the co-founder of the Vision Catalyst Fund which is building a global fund for vision.

Congratulations to Tristan Harris, a 2023 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize winner.

Tristan Harris, United States, went from childhood magician to co-founder and executive director of the Center for Humane Technology, 2023 Global Leadership Prize winner Tristan Harris has long studied influences that affect human attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs. 

His non-profit works tirelessly to align technology with humanity’s best interests, and he regularly shares updates with heads of state, technology CEOs, and US Congress members. 

Featured in the two-time Emmy-winning documentary, The Social Dilemma, Tristan was able to reach over 100 million people in 190 countries across 30 languages. 

He continues to do so as co-host of the top-rated technology podcast, Your Undivided Attention, where he explores the drivers behind social media’s all-encompassing impact.

Congratulations to Meg Lowman, a 2023 Tällberg-SNF-Eliasson Global Leadership Prize winner.

Meg Lowman, United States, is one of the world’s first arbornauts, and has devoted over 40 years to exploring forest canopies.

She has traveled to over 40 countries to both save forests and mentor girls.

With over 200 research publications to her name, her work has appeared in National Geographic, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, and more. She is the author of ten books, the first receiving a cover feature in the New York Times Sunday Book Review.

Currently, she serves as the Executive Director/Founder of TREE Foundation whose mission is to link local underserved children to nature and promote tree research, education, and exploration. Meg launched Mission Green to build 10 canopy walkways in the world’s highest bio-diverse forests over the next 5 years.
